Deauville will draw the curtain on its racing year this Tuesday, December 30, with a nine-race programme that prioritises depth, balance, and full fields over spectacle. The spotlight will fall immediately on Race 1 – PRIX OUEST FRANCE (PRIX DE SAINTE-MERE-EGLISE), a 1900-metre handicap for three-year-olds that stands as the feature contest and sets the pace for the entire card.

Scheduled for 1:55 pm, the feature opener will bring together 16 colts, geldings, and fillies in a 1900-metre handicap for three-year-olds that demand both balance and tactical judgement. Valued at €52,800, the contest carries added distinction, with France Galop set to present a souvenir to the winning owner, while Mr. Raphael Fresnais, Horse Racing Journalist at Ouest France, will honour the winning jockey. The ceremony underscores the race’s status as more than just a curtain-raiser.

Contenders: Chaumiere De Pre, Kourpluvix, Ziggy Star, Fiumiccino, The Doctor, Olya, Most Glamorous, Rue Ernestine, Rembrand To Go, Telcherboline, Larlib, Haza, Mon Comedien, Faithful Friend, Galagos, Young And Proud.

Speed will follow at 2:30 pm in Race 2 – PRIX DU NOUVEL AN, a Class 3 contest over 1300 metres. With 16 runners declared and €18,200 at stake, the race will inject early intensity into the programme before the meeting settles into its prevailing middle-distance rhythm.

That rhythm will resume at 3:05 pm with Race 3 – PRIX DE L’ANCIENNE MAISON DU FERMIER, a Class 4 race over 1900 metres. Fourteen runners will contest the €13,000 event, where positioning and late efficiency will be expected to outweigh raw speed.

Handicap conditions will return at 3:40 pm in Race 4 – PRIX DE FRESVILLE, another 1900-metre test for three-year-olds. With a full field of 16 runners and €17,500 on offer, the race will further reinforce the card’s emphasis on consistency and race management.

The pressure will continue at 4:15 pm in Race 5 – PRIX DU MANOIR DU LIEU CALICE, a Class 4 contest over the same distance. Fourteen runners will compete for €14,400, maintaining the meeting’s steady tempo as the afternoon progresses.

At 4:50 pm, Race 6 – PRIX DE SAINTE-MARIE-DU-MONT will extend the handicap sequence. Sixteen three-year-olds will tackle 1900 metres for €19,200, in what is likely to become one of the more searching tests of the card.

The late segment of the programme will begin at 5:25 pm with Race 7 – PRIX DU MANOIR DES EVEQUES, a Class 3 race over 1900 metres featuring 14 runners and a value of €21,100. The race will serve as a bridge between the deeper handicaps and the closing contests.

That transition will continue at 6:00 pm with Race 8 – PRIX DU MANOIR DE PRETOT, another Class 3 event over 1900 metres. Fourteen runners will compete for €19,200 as the meeting moves decisively toward its conclusion.

The year will close at 6:30 pm with Race 9 – PRIX DE SAINT-SAUVEUR-LE-VICOMTE, a final handicap for three-year-olds. Sixteen runners will contest the €26,900 race over 1900 metres, offering one last opportunity for tactical execution before the curtain falls on the season.

Rather than chasing spectacle, Deauville Racecards 30 December will lean into structure, balance, and competitive depth. It will mark the end of the year in controlled fashion, with a programme that rewards discipline and delivers clarity, ensuring the season concludes with intent rather than excess.
