The Deauville Race Results 23 December captured a busy pre-Christmas afternoon on the Normandy coast, with eight races run on the Deauville polytrack across a range of distances and categories. The card featured divided handicaps, claimers and conditional events, offering opportunities for both established performers and emerging names in French racing.
The meeting opened at 13:55 with the Prix de Giverny, a €50,900 divided handicap over 1,900 metres. SIYOUKING produced a decisive performance to land the contest under Stephane Pasquier for trainer F. Rohaut (S), giving owner Mr Serge Boucheron a notable success in one of the day’s most valuable races.
At 14:30, the Prix du Marche de Noel de Deauville, a 1,500-metre claimer worth €22,100, went the way of ROSAPENNA. Again partnered by Stephane Pasquier, the winner scored for trainer G. Bietolini, with Mr Niccolo Rugani recorded as owner.
The staying Prix Arcangues – Polytrack Challenge followed at 15:05 over 2,500 metres. WEST WIND BLOWS proved strongest in the €47,600 conditional race, ridden by Theo Bachelot and trained by Simon & Ed Crisford for owner Mr Abdulla Al Mansoori.
Another conditional contest came at 15:40 in the Prix de L’Hermeraie. Over the same 2,500-metre trip, SESTRIEM took the €20,100 event with David Breux in the saddle for trainer M. Delzangles, carrying the colours of Ecurie des Monceaux.
The afternoon then returned to shorter distances with the Prix de Bourgeauville at 16:15. The 1,900-metre claimer, worth €18,200, was claimed by KEANU, ridden by Mme Marie Velon and trained by A. Fouassier for Sarl Groupe KR/VDA Transport.
At 16:50, the Prix du Pont Japonais provided another divided handicap over 1,900 metres. KIM KARALA emerged on top in the €19,200 race, with Richard Juteau aboard for trainer P. Chevillard, who also owned the winner.
The Prix du Jardin d’Eau at 17:25 continued the sequence of handicaps over 1,900 metres. EFFIRA delivered a winning effort under Maximilien Justum for trainer C. Lotoux (S), securing the €21,100 prize for owner Mr Melvyn Jan.
The card concluded at 18:00 with the Prix de l’Atelier des Nympheas. The €25,900 divided handicap over 1,900 metres saw FEARLESS CHEETAH finish the day on a strong note, ridden by Jerome Claudic and trained by F. Bresson (S), who was also listed as the owner.
