The racing action began in spirited fashion at the Pune Meeting 2025 (Eleventh Day) on Sunday, 2nd November 2025, as Race 1 – The Pune Cantonment Board Trophy (Div III) opened the afternoon’s card at the Royal Western India Turf Club. The Class IV contest for Indian horses rated 20 to 46 (0 to 19 eligible), run over 1200 metres at 1:00 PM, saw Dancing Cloud (3Y B G) deliver a composed and confident performance under jockey K. Nazil, guiding the Hosidar Daji-trained gelding to victory. The promising youngster, racing in the silks of Mr Mohan Thakur & Mrs Mohan Thakur, stopped the clock at 1:10:566, giving his connections a fine start to the day.

The race unfolded at a sharp tempo from the jump, with the early leaders setting a brisk pace down the backstretch. Dancing Cloud travelled comfortably in mid-pack before making smooth headway entering the final 400 metres. Urged forward by Nazil, the gelding quickened impressively in the final furlong to draw clear of the chasing pack, confirming his growing maturity and speed over the sprint distance.

Mila (J: T. S. Jodha, T: Nazzak B. Chenoy) ran a game race in second, staying on strongly to ensure the winner had to earn every stride of the finish. Spotlight (J: K. Pranil, T: P. Shroff) produced a steady effort to secure third, rounding off the placings in a competitive opening dash.

With the first event setting the tone for an exciting afternoon, the focus now turns to The Delhi Race Club Trophy, scheduled for 1:30 PM, promising another intriguing contest at Pune Racecourse.
