MYSORE (MONSOON) RACES 2025, 5th day – Thursday, 18 Sep 2025 – Race 5: The B.A.Nanaiah Memorial Trophy, a Class II contest for horses rated 60 and above over 1400 meters, saw Crosswater (J: Aleemuddin, T: Arjun Mangalorkar) deliver a masterclass in timing and determination. Racing in the colours of Rajagiri Rubber & Produce Co Ltd, represented by Mr Dilip Thomas, Crosswater stormed to victory with an authoritative finishing time of 1:23.336, asserting his class among Mysore’s top contenders.
The race was run at a steady tempo, with Crosswater positioned just behind the early leaders. Aleemuddin maintained a patient approach before asking his mount to quicken as they entered the straight. Responding promptly, Crosswater moved ahead inside the final furlong and maintained a clear advantage to the finish.
Vandhiyathevan (J: C. Umesh, T: K S Mandanna) finished a close second in 1:23.530, staying within striking distance of the winner throughout the stretch. Heroism (J: Faiz, T: C D Monnappa) held on to take third in 1:23.691, rounding out a tightly contested top three.
With the B.A.Nanaiah Memorial Trophy concluded, attention now turns to The Kasargod Plate DIV I, set to begin at 4:30 PM, promising more thrilling action on the Monsoon meeting’s fifth day.
