The third race on the card at Bangalore Turf Club (BTC) — the K.N. Guruswamy Memorial Trophy — turned into a showcase of strength, stamina, and strategic brilliance as CROSSWATER surged ahead in the final furlong to secure a well-deserved win. Trained by the accomplished Arjun Mangalorkar and ridden with precision by Aleemuddin, Crosswater completed the 1400-meter contest in 1:26.84, holding off a late challenge and cementing a career-defining victory.
The race unfolded with a steady early pace, but it was in the final 300 meters that Crosswater began to assert dominance. Aleemuddin’s timing was impeccable, urging the gelding to the front with a measured move that left rivals scrambling. This win marks a significant feather in the cap for both jockey and trainer, who have consistently produced competitive performances at this level.
Hot on Crosswater’s heels was the gutsy filly KAVYA, partnered by experienced jockey N. S. Parmar and trained by M. K. Jadhav. Despite a valiant effort in the final stretch, Kavya was forced to settle for second, crossing the post in 1:27.11, just a fraction behind the winner.
Rounding off the podium was MISS SMILEY ANGEL, a consistent performer who once again displayed resilience. Piloted by Abhay Singh and trained by G. Shashikanth, the mare clocked 1:27.97, finishing a respectable third in what was a fiercely contested race.
With the K.N. Guruswamy Memorial Trophy now concluded, attention now turns to the next race of the afternoon — The Col. Desraj Urs Trophy — as the Bangalore racing season continues to deliver excitement and quality competition.
