At the Royal Calcutta Turf Club (RCTC), Cristaldo, trained by B. Mahesh and ridden by Suraj Narredu, stamped his authority in the Dare to Dream Handicap (1600m) by outpacing the tote favorite Born to Be Spoilt.
Starting at odds of 13/10, Cristaldo delivered a commanding performance, clocking 1:41.658 to secure the victory in the Rs. 3,00,000 race. Born to Be Spoilt, trained by R. Ford Alford and piloted by Imran Chisty, had to settle for second despite going off as the 16/10 favorite, finishing in 1:43.562.
Adding to the day’s surprises, Pyrgos, guided by R. Vaibhav and trained by Aashay Doctor, finished third with a time of 1:44.2934 at long odds of 10/1.
