Ireland’s summer National Hunt calendar will continue at Cork Racecourse on Friday, 10 July, when a competitive seven-race programme will take place from 5:10 PM until 8:30 PM. The fixture will feature a varied schedule of maiden hurdles, handicap hurdles, a feature staying hurdle and a concluding fillies’ flat race. With prize money ranging from €10,000 to €18,000, the meeting will provide opportunities for both emerging talent and experienced campaigners across a range of distances.
Opening the evening’s racing, the Ashgrove Renewables Maiden Hurdle will be run at 5:10 PM over 2m 1f 60y for €12,000. Good Onya Mate, Hygge, I’m All In, Landamar and Mambo Du Large will be among the expected runners, while several others will also line up in the opening contest of the meeting.
The action will gather momentum with the DNG John Ryan Auctioneer Maiden Hurdle at 5:45 PM. The €12,000 contest over 2m 1f 60y will feature expected runners including Alentejo, Ballyminnion Boy, Boomerang Breeze, Carry On Star and Cloonbonniffe, along with many more hopefuls.
Attention will then turn to handicap company as the Kelkab Ltd. Handicap Hurdle will be staged at 6:15 PM over 2m 1f 60y with prize money of €10,000. Cloudio, Gino Bella, Eaglewood, Jay Pee M and Laurie Blue will be expected among the runners in what will be another competitive contest.
The mares will then take centre stage in the Sign Up To Our Newsletter Mares Handicap Hurdle at 6:50 PM. Run over 2m 4f for €12,000, the race will be expected to include Brosna Queen, Preparations, Arctic Flame, Surfin Usa and Early Bird, together with several other contenders.
Staying ability will be put to the test in the Follow Us On X Maiden Hurdle at 7:25 PM. The 3m contest, worth €12,000, will feature expected runners Ajp Falco, C Pas Possible, Jeroboam Machin, Mind Eraser and Riverstown Boy among a competitive line-up.
The feature race of the evening will follow with the RBC Brewin Dolphin Hurdle at 8:00 PM. Carrying prize money of €18,000 over 3m, the contest will be expected to attract Happy Jacky, Hewick, Reverend Hubert, Smooth Tom and Topgun Simmy in one of the strongest fields of the meeting.
Drawing the curtain on the programme, the Racing Again July 24th Fillies Flat Race will be be run at 8:30 PM over 2m 190y for €11,000. Ballyhahill, Bluebell Breeze, Born To Caledonie, Charlie Shiron and Girl From The West will be among the expected runners as the seven-race fixture reaches its conclusion.
The seven-race programme will offer a well-balanced evening of National Hunt racing, combining opportunities for promising newcomers with competitive contests for experienced performers. Cork Racecourse will once again provide an important stage as the Irish summer jumps season continues.
