The Calcutta Races – Monsoon Meeting, Sixth Day got underway on Wednesday, 3rd September 2025, with Race 1: The State Treasure Handicap, a Class V contest for horses rated 1-26 over a mile. At 1:45 PM, it was Cool Daddy (3y b g) who rose to the occasion, showing maturity beyond his age. Partnered by jockey P. Tejeshwar and trained by B. Rajender Reddy, the gelding sealed a confident win in 1:41.414, carrying the silks of Mr Praveen Kumar Katakam, Mr Ajit Kumar Patra & Mr B Rajender Reddy.

The race began at a steady clip, with early leaders vying for position before Cool Daddy settled midfield. As the runners turned for home, Tejeshwar angled his mount wide and produced a decisive burst of acceleration. Cool Daddy responded gamely, stretching away inside the final furlong and leaving no doubts about his dominance.

Global Fashion (J: P. Trevor, T: Aashay Doctor) fought hard to finish second, clocking 1:41.926 after staying close to the winner until the final strides. The third spot went to Just Dash (J: Arul J H, T: Neil Darashah), who stayed on resolutely but was a length adrift, posting 1:43.370.

With the curtain-raiser complete, attention now shifts to the day’s upcoming races, particularly the feature fifth race, which promises to be the highlight of the Calcutta Monsoon card.
