There is a sense of anticipation in Compiègne as the northern French track prepares for an eight-race programme on September 10. Riders and trainers will look to make their mark in a meeting that combines youthful promise with seasoned experience, and the grandstands are expected to welcome an eager crowd ready for a full afternoon of jumping and hurdling action.

The day begins at 11:19am with the Prix Maurice d’Okhuysen, a 3450-metre steeple-chase for three-year-olds. Names such as Metronomique, Zayed the Great and Mary Shelley are among those hoping to seize the early initiative.

Next comes the Prix de Pornic at 11:51am, a 3600-metre hurdle where older horses including Instar de Rêve, Dream Rique and Miss Greeley could provide a close finish.

At 12:23pm, the card’s richest contest, the Prix The Stomp, offers €102,000 in stakes. This 3800-metre steeple-chase has drawn strong entries such as Uncheckable, Game of Storm and Celtic Warrior, ensuring plenty of interest from both horsemen and spectators.

The Prix Roman Oak follows at 12:55pm over 3400 metres. Three-year-olds like Mastar, Leon de Luffy and Marquise d’Ainay will be out to prove their ability in what promises to be a tactical encounter.

After the break, attention switches to the Prix Summit at 1:27pm, a Class 3 chase at 3450 metres. Astorius, Amarna and Lorenzo Conti are among those who could play a leading role.

The sixth event, the Prix Nuage at 2:12pm, brings together another field of three-year-old hurdlers, with Akwaba, Shabrack and Mana Sofia all seeking to deliver on their potential.

Young riders take centre stage in the Prix World Citizen at 2:47pm, a 3850-metre chase designed for apprentices and jockeys yet to reach fifty wins. Action Spéciale, Quel Bonbon and Jeu de Piste stand out in a line-up that may produce future stars of the saddle.

The meeting concludes at 3:22pm with the Prix de Ranville, a 3600-metre hurdle where Gallipoli, Gold Tweet and Bialystok are part of a field aiming to bring the curtain down in style.

From start to finish, the Compiègne card looks finely balanced, with opportunities for established runners and emerging names alike. The blend of hurdles and steeple-chases promises a day of variety and drama for those watching on.
