The second race of the Mysore Monsoon Races 2025/2026 saw Code of Honour live up to his name with a commanding run in the Varada Plate Division II over 1100 metres. Ridden confidently by Dhanu Singh Deora for trainer Bobby M, the eight-year-old gelding showed determination in the closing stages to prevail by two lengths.
The experienced campaigner tracked the early leaders before being urged to quicken approaching the final furlong. Once in the clear, Code of Honour responded willingly, pulling away from his rivals to score in a time of 1:06.232. The victory reflected both his staying power and Deora’s well-judged ride.
Eagle Bluff, under Kuldeep Singh for trainer S. Ashwin Rao, kept on gamely to secure second, finishing a long neck ahead of Anushutuba, who filled the minor placing under Antony Raj. King Scarface stayed on for fourth, while Elevado, Break Away, and Saffron Breeze followed them home.
The win brought satisfaction to trainer Bobby M’s yard, with Code of Honour showing he still retains plenty of fight despite his age. The performance drew appreciation from the Mysore crowd, who welcomed the gelding back to the paddock with warm applause.
As the day’s racing moved forward, attention turned to the next highlight — the B.K. Krishnadevaraj Urs Memorial Trophy over 1200 metres — promising another fiercely contested event on the opening day’s card.
