Keeping the momentum alive on Day 4 of the Mysore Summer Races 2025, the fourth race on the card—The Takshashila Plate Div 1—offered an exciting finish in the 1200-meter handicap for horses rated 20 to 45. Run at 3:00 pm for a total prize purse of ₹4,50,000, the race brought another close contest to the Mysore turf.
Choice, trained by Mandanna K S and ably guided by jockey Faiz, emerged victorious in a race that demanded both pace and grit. Stopping the clock at 1:16.590, Choice showed enough in the final strides to hold off late challengers and secure a well-earned win. The horse is owned by Ms. K.K. Belliappa, Harmeet Singh Chhabra, and Manjri Horse Breed’s Farm Pvt. Ltd., represented by Mr. Pallon S. Mistry.
Just behind the winner, Natural Light, partnered by H. Rahul for trainer Mansoor Khan, gave a determined chase but fell short by a margin, finishing second in 1:16.891. Completing the top three was Break Away, ridden by Varun and trained by Pratap Kamath M, who clocked 1:17.280 in a credible effort.
With four races now concluded, each bringing its own flavour to the day’s narrative, all eyes now turn to the fifth contest—The Somwarpet Plate Div 1—as the action continues at the Mysore Race Club.
