Catterick Racecourse will host an eight-race Flat racing programme on Saturday, October 17, 2026. The meeting will feature contests for two-year-olds, novice runners, experienced sprinters and stayers across a variety of distances on turf. The first race is scheduled for 1:00 PM, with the final contest set to take place at 5:15 PM. Prize money across the programme ranges from £8,000 to £30,000.

The highlight of the afternoon will be the William Hill Catterick Dash Handicap Stakes, a Class 2 sprint worth £30,000. The programme also includes a restricted maiden race, a novice contest, a veterans’ handicap and two divisions of the William Hill Epic Boosts Handicap Stakes, providing a varied schedule for runners across different age groups and ability levels.

The meeting begins at 1:00 PM with the EBF “Confined” Restricted Maiden Stakes, a Class 4 contest over 7 furlongs and 18 yards. Open to two-year-olds in Bands C and D with no more than three previous runs, the race offers £10,000 in prize money. The contest will give developing horses an opportunity to demonstrate their ability over the distance.

At 1:35 PM, the Every Race Live on Racing TV Novice Stakes will take place over 6 furlongs and 4 yards. This Class 4 race is open to horses aged three and above and carries £10,000 in prize money. The sprint distance will place emphasis on early pace, positioning and the ability to maintain speed through the closing stages.

The third race, the Download the Raceday Ready App Handicap Stakes, is scheduled for 2:10 PM. This Class 4 contest will cover 1 mile, 4 furlongs and 25 yards and is open to horses aged three and above with ratings between 66 and 85. With £10,000 in prize money, the race will test stamina and consistency over a longer distance than the opening contests.

At 2:45 PM, the William Hill Best Odds Guaranteed Veterans’ Handicap Stakes will bring experienced runners to the course. The Class 4 race is restricted to horses aged six and above and will be run over 6 furlongs and 4 yards. With a rating range of 61 to 80 and £10,000 in prize money, the contest will provide an opportunity for established sprinters to compete over a shorter distance.

The first division of the William Hill Epic Boosts Handicap Stakes is scheduled for 3:25 PM. This Class 4 contest will cover 7 furlongs and 18 yards and is open to horses aged three and above with ratings between 61 and 80. The race carries £10,000 in prize money and will test the participants’ ability to maintain a steady pace over the seven-furlong distance.

The second division will follow at 4:10 PM over the same distance. Also classified as a Class 4 handicap for horses aged three and above, it features the same rating range of 61 to 80 and offers £10,000 in prize money. Holding the two divisions separately will provide additional opportunities for horses competing within this rating category.

The feature event of the afternoon, the William Hill Catterick Dash Handicap Stakes, is set for 4:45 PM. This Class 2 race will be run over five furlongs and is open to horses aged three and above with ratings between 81 and 100. It carries the highest prize fund of the meeting at £30,000.

The short sprint distance is expected to make speed and a strong finish important factors. The contest will bring together higher-rated runners for one of the programme’s principal events and is likely to be a key attraction of the Catterick Bridge meeting.

The eight-race card will conclude at 5:15 PM with the Go Racing in Yorkshire Future Stars Apprentice Handicap Stakes. This Class 5 contest is open to horses aged three and above and will cover 1 mile, 5 furlongs and 204 yards. The race offers £8,000 in prize money and is open to runners rated between 51 and 70.

The longer distance will place emphasis on stamina and race management. The contest will also provide apprentice riders with an opportunity to compete in a race designed for this category of participants, bringing the afternoon’s programme to a close.

Saturday’s meeting at Catterick Bridge will feature eight Flat races covering distances from five furlongs to more than a mile and five furlongs. The programme includes opportunities for young horses, novice runners, established veterans and stayers, creating a varied schedule throughout the afternoon.

The William Hill Catterick Dash stands out as the day’s richest race, with £30,000 in prize money, while the two divisions of the William Hill Epic Boosts Handicap Stakes add further depth to the middle portion of the card. The meeting will conclude with the Future Stars Apprentice Handicap, completing an afternoon of turf racing across a range of distances and classifications.
