The winter National Hunt season continues in style at one of North Yorkshire’s most prominent racing venues. The Catterick Bridge Race Cards 21 January will outline a seven-race National Hunt meeting on Wednesday, with competitive handicaps, novice contests and a concluding bumper scheduled across the afternoon. The card will feature races over hurdles and fences, testing stamina and jumping on a winter surface at the North Yorkshire venue.

The action will begin at 12:47pm and will conclude at 3:50pm, with distances ranging from just under two miles to extended three-mile chases. Prize money across the card ranges from £4,500 to £10,000, and a mix of established performers and developing runners will shape a varied midweek programme.

Proceedings will get underway with the Conditional Jockeys’ Veterans’ Handicap Steeple Chase (Class 4) at 12:47pm. Six runners will line up over 3 miles, 1 furlong and 54 yards, with £10,000 in prize money. Tiger Orchid, Ladronne, and Fern Hill are among the experienced chasers expected to feature prominently.

The Yorkshire Season Ticket Novices’ Hurdle Race (Class 4) at 1:17pm will attract a field of 13 runners over 2 miles, 3 furlongs and 66 yards, carrying £10,000 in prize money. Kosac d’Oudairies, Noonetellsmenothin, and Red Oak are among the likely participants in this contest for developing hurdlers.

At 1:47pm, the Novices’ Handicap Steeple Chase (Class 5) will see seven runners tackle 2 miles, 3 furlongs and 51 yards, with £8,000 in prize money. Marty McFly, Powerofjet, and Kingoftheswingerz are among the entries set to test their jumping in a competitive field.

The afternoon will continue at 2:20pm with The Jumps Look Better Handicap Hurdle Race (Class 4). Sixteen runners will assemble over 2 miles, 3 furlongs and 66 yards, offering £10,000 in prize money. Rauzan, Klitschko, and Belvedere Blast are expected to feature in this large-field hurdle contest.

The Handicap Steeple Chase (Class 5) at 2:50pm will provide a stamina test over 3 miles, 1 furlong and 54 yards, with £8,000 on offer. Fourteen runners, including I See The Sea, Wolfburg, and Getaway Glory, are declared for this extended trip.

At 3:20pm, attention will turn to the Download Handicap Hurdle Race (Class 5). Fifteen runners will contest 1 mile, 7 furlongs and 156 yards, carrying £8,000 in prize money. Newport, Rukaana, and Mexican Stan are among those scheduled to compete.

The meeting will conclude at 3:50pm with The “Junior” National Hunt Flat Race (Class 5). Nine runners will line up over 1 mile, 7 furlongs and 156 yards, with £4,500 in prize money. Bound For Glory, Broadway Dreamer, and Campfield Flyer are among the young horses gaining early racecourse experience.
