The prestigious Chettinad Stud Plate, one of the most anticipated contests on the Bangalore Summer Meeting 2025 card, lived up to expectations as Casteel stormed home to register a resounding win. The race, run over 1600 meters at 4:30 PM on May 31st, was open to horses rated 80 and above, offering a handsome prize pool of ₹11,00,000.

Trained by S. Narredu and ridden with assurance by Ramswarup, Casteel displayed class and stamina to take control of the race in the final 400 meters. Settling comfortably in the early stages, the gelding responded gamely when asked for an effort, powering down the center of the track to pull ahead and secure the top spot with authority.

Finishing second and making it a 1-2 for trainer S. Narredu was Champions Way, guided by experienced rider Suraj Narredu. Despite a gallant attempt to chase down his stablemate, Champions Way found one better on the day, but the performance highlighted the stable’s strong grip on the higher-rated division.
The top-three was rounded off by Star of Night with jockey Neeraj Rawal and was trained by R. H. Sequeira.
The result underlined the dominance of the Narredu camp, showcasing depth and talent in their middle-distance runners. Both horses now appear well poised for further success in the summer calendar.

As the sun sets on a thrilling afternoon of racing, all eyes now turn to the final event of the day — The Romantic Dance Plate Div I, a highly competitive sprint set to conclude proceedings at BTC. Stay connected for the final update from an eventful day at the races.
