A Varied Seven-Race Programme at Carlisle

The Thursday card will provide a broad mix of racing across the afternoon, with different age groups, field sizes and distances represented. The programme will begin with a middle-distance event before moving into two-year-old action, followed by a nursery contest and two races over sprint distances.

The latter part of the meeting will then focus on longer-distance racing, with both final contests scheduled over 1m 3f 48y. The 2:30pm event will carry the highest prize money at £13,000, while the 3:00pm and 3:30pm races will each offer £10,500. The other four races will carry £6,500.

Field sizes will range from five runners in the 3:00pm nursery to 13 runners in the 4:00pm contest. The variation in numbers will add further diversity to a programme that will include seven races within a three-hour period.

The meeting will also provide several opportunities for younger horses. Two-year-olds will feature in the second and third races, while three-year-olds and older horses will contest the later events. This will give the Carlisle card a balanced structure from the opening race through to the final contest.

The Carlisle Racecards 27 August will feature seven races from 2:00pm to 5:00pm, with contests covering distances from five furlongs to 1m 3f 48y. The card will include two-year-olds, three-year-olds and older horses, while prize money will reach £13,000.
