The atmosphere was electric on the Sixth Day of the Calcutta Races Autumn Meeting at the Royal Calcutta Turf Club on Sunday, 23rd November 2025, as the 6th race of the afternoon — The Royal Western India Turf Club Ltd. Cup — delivered a gripping spectacle over 1400 metres for Class I horses rated 81 and above (61–86 eligible). In what will go down as one of the standout Calcutta Races Result November 23 performances, King’s Retreat, owned by Mr Faiz Adam, surged to a powerful victory, stopping the clock at 1:25.932 under a polished ride from jockey Vishal N. Bunde, and trained to perfection by B. Rajender Reddy.

The early pace was sharp as the field bunched closely through the opening stages, with several contenders vying for prominent positions. King’s Retreat travelled comfortably behind the leaders, poised for the right moment. Turning for home, Bunde asked for an effort, and the five-year-old gelding responded with a decisive burst of acceleration, forging ahead in the closing strides to seal a confident and calculated win.

Misty (Jockey P. Trevor, Trainer Aashay Doctor) mounted a spirited late challenge, keeping the pressure on the winner and finishing a narrow second in 1:25.960, only a fraction behind. King of Mafia (Jockey Suraj Narredu, Trainer B Mahesh) battled gamely but settled for third, clocking 1:26.875 after being outpaced in the final 200 metres.

With the crowd still buzzing from the thrilling finish, anticipation now shifts to the next contest of the afternoon—The Eagle Pines Handicap, scheduled at 4:00 PM, promising yet another exciting showdown.
