The eighth day of the Calcutta Races, Monsoon Meeting, witnessed an electrifying 6th race as The Scruples Cup, a Class II contest for horses rated 61-86 over 1200 metres, unfolded at 04:15 PM on Saturday, 20th September 2025. In a performance marked by poise and speed, Misty (J: Antony Raj S., T: Aashay Doctor) surged past the competition to win in a time of 1:13.422, bringing glory to owners Mr & Mrs Farouq K Rattonsey, Mr Sameer F Rattonsey & Mr Zaheer F Rattonsey rep M/s Hyperion Bloodstock Pvt Ltd, Mrs Rina Mahindra & Mr Marthand Singh Mahindra.
From the start, Misty settled just off the early pace, biding her time before making a decisive move in the final 200 metres. Antony Raj S. timed the challenge perfectly, guiding Misty through a narrow opening along the rail, demonstrating both tactical awareness and explosive acceleration to edge ahead in the final strides and secure a memorable victory.
The runner-up spoils went to Mathangi (J: Arul J H, T: Dr Anil Kumar), who pressed the winner closely and finished in 1:13.476, narrowly missing out on the top spot. Third place was claimed by Roman Spirit (J: Neeraj Rawal, T: Patrick Quinn) in 1:14.431, rounding out a tightly contested podium.
With The Scruples Cup concluded, racing enthusiasts now turn their attention to the Vanitas Handicap, set for 04:45 PM, promising another battle of speed, strategy, and stamina under the Calcutta skies.
