The fourth day of the Calcutta Autumn Meeting on Friday, 7th November 2025, saw a scintillating display of class in the 5th race, The Delhi Race Club (1940) Ltd. Cup, a Class I contest for horses rated 81 and above over 1600 meters at 03:45 PM. King Louis (Jockey: Vishal N Bunde) delivered a commanding performance for trainer Neil Darashah, racing in the colours of Mrs Esha Banerjee, Mrs Manju Mazumder, Mr Joydeep Datta Gupta, Mr Jeet Banerjee, Mr Achuthan Siddharth, Mr Sanjay Datta Gupta, Mr Ananda Bose, Mr Dipak Harshadrai Doshi & Mr Sanjay Ginodia, stopping the clock at an impressive 1:39.575.

King Louis settled comfortably mid-pack before unleashing a well-timed surge in the final 400 meters. Showing remarkable acceleration and composure, the four-year-old seized the lead entering the straight and held off all challengers with authority, demonstrating tactical brilliance under Bunde’s experienced guidance.

Sativur (J: Imran Chisty, T: Rutherford Alford) finished a close second in 1:39.677, staying within striking distance of the winner throughout the home stretch, while Raffaello (J: Antony Raj S., T: Aashay Doctor) ran on late to claim third in 1:39.716, ensuring the top three crossed the line separated by mere fractions.

With The Delhi Race Club Cup concluded, the excitement at Calcutta Racecourse continues with the Not Much Handicap set for 04:15 PM, promising another thrilling contest as the Autumn Meeting progresses.
