In a commanding display, Jamaica (J: R Vaibhav, T: Javed Khan) surged to victory in a time of 1:08.061 for owners Mr Anand Chopra rep M/s Speedex Livestock Pvt Ltd, Mr Alok Kumar Agarwal, Mr Dilip Kumar Agarwal, Mr Sushil Kumar Saraf, Mr Sanjay Kumar Singhi & Mr Pradeep Bagla, setting the perfect tone for the opening day of racing. This impressive win marks a highlight in the Calcutta Races 2025.

From the break, Jamaica broke cleanly and settled just off the early leader, biding time before producing a decisive burst in the final 200 metres. Showing tactical awareness and a strong finishing kick, the winner drew clear to claim the Star Magic Handicap in authoritative fashion, leaving the field chasing—a defining moment of Calcutta Races 2025.

Horus The Great (J: Vishal N Bunde, T: Sabeel Shariff) finished a close second in 1:08.534, staying on well but unable to reel in Jamaica. Third place went to Artemis Zelda (J: Prashanth Thapa, T: Neil Darashah) in 1:08.614, rounding out a tightly contested top three in what will be remembered as a key race of Calcutta Races 2025.
