The first day of the Calcutta Races, Autumn Meeting, Thursday, 23rd October 2025, witnessed an electrifying display in the 2nd Race, The Comedy of Errors Handicap, a Class V contest for horses rated 1-26 over 1400 metres at 02:15 PM. Dancing Queen (J: Varun, T: Vikash Jaiswal), owned by Mrs. Chhaya Jaiswal, Mr. Ramesh Sanghi, and Mr. Debashish Das, surged to a commanding victory, stopping the clock at 1:28.929 and showcasing both speed and composure in this competitive field.

From the outset, Dancing Queen positioned herself prominently, tracking the leaders closely before unleashing a decisive turn of foot in the final 300 metres. Varun’s patient yet assertive riding allowed her to edge clear in the home straight, demonstrating tactical intelligence and a finishing burst that left competitors chasing shadows.

Runner-up honours went to Soul Aquarian (J: R Vaibhav, T: Javed Khan), who finished strongly in 1:29.424 but could not match the winner’s late acceleration. Lineupandcollect (J: Vishal N Bunde, T: Sabeel Shariff) claimed third place in 1:29.520, rounding out a tightly contested top three.

With the applause still resonating, attention now turns to the 3rd Race, The Starry Flag Handicap, scheduled for 02:45 PM, promising another thrilling test of speed and strategy at Calcutta Racecourse.
