In a fitting finale to the CHRISTMAS MEETING Extra Day, Sea Eagle delivered a polished performance to land the spoils, a result that neatly capped the Calcutta race result 18 December narrative for the day. Racing for M/s Manjri Horse Breeders’ Farm Pvt Ltd, Mr Hemant Dharnidharka, Mr Anjan Kumar Rangaraj & Mr Kishore Reddy, the Neil Darashah-trained runner showed authority to score in 1:27.052 under Arul J H.
Settled into a handy rhythm through the early exchanges, Sea Eagle travelled comfortably as the field fanned out turning for home. Asked to quicken inside the final furlong, the winner responded with a decisive turn of foot, holding a straight line and asserting late to clinch the verdict in a tight but controlled finish.
Cortado (J: R Vaibhav, T: Aashay Doctor) chased resolutely to claim second in 1:27.129, never far from the leader and pressing all the way to the line. Queen of Mafia (J: M S Deora, T: B Mahesh) finished on for third, clocking 1:27.746 after keeping on steadily in the closing stages.
Earlier in the day, the opening contest, Race No. 1, THE AMALITA HANDICAP (1600m), saw Made in Heaven (J: Mukesh Kumar, T: Rutherford Alford) deliver a smooth performance for M/s Cherie Sports Pvt Ltd, with Macchiato (J: Vishal N Bunde, T: Sabeel Shariff) second and Lahina (J: Arman Khan, T: Sabeel Shariff) third.
In Race No. 2, THE ALADANCER HANDICAP (1200m), Cashaban (J: Vishal N Bunde, T: Sabeel Shariff) for Mr Koushik Dutta led the way, followed by Surprise Fantasy (J: Prashanth Thapa, T: Neil Darashah) and Diamond Gold (J: A Prakash, T: Rutherford Alford).
Race No. 3, THE BOUNTIFUL TREASURE HANDICAP (1100m) saw Outlander (J: Suraj Narredu, T: Javed Khan) for Mr Anand Chopra rep M/s Speedex Livestock Pvt Ltd, M/s Muskan Nirman LLP, Mr Pradeep Bagla & Mr Devansh Binani) secure victory, with La Dominate (J: R Vaibhav, T: B Mahesh) and Thousand Words (J: MD Azharuddin, T: Rutherford Alford) completing the top three.
The THE STAR SUPERIOR CUP (Race 4, 1200m) was dominated by Black Eagle (J: Prashanth Thapa, T: B Rajender Reddy) for Mr Faiz Adam, while Pluto (J: Vishal N Bunde, T: Deepesh Narredu) took second and Raffaello (J: R Vaibhav, T: Aashay Doctor) third.
In Race No. 5, THE MISS X O LENCE HANDICAP (1400m), Anigraha (J: Hindu Singh, T: Vijay Singh) for Bachhawat Farms Pvt Ltd rep by Mr Vikram Bachhawat triumphed ahead of This Is Gold (J: Suraj Narredu, T: Deepesh Narredu) and Impressive Annie (J: R S Bhati, T: Aashay Doctor).
