The 3rd race of the Calcutta Races, Autumn Meeting Fifth Day, on Sunday, 16th November 2025, produced a thrilling spectacle in The Arabian Prince Handicap, a Class III contest over 2000 metres at 2:00 PM. In a performance that left racing fans impressed, Zarak (J: Imran Chisty, T: S Waheed) clinched a commanding victory, stopping the clock at 2:07.555 for owners Mr Ketan S Wakkar, Mr Kishore C Punjabi, Mr Anil V Poduval, Mr Rajiv Tinaikar, Mrs Minal Pitale, Mr Suresh Pitale & Mr Nihar Pitale rep Green Turf Racing LLP, and Mr S Waheed. The decisive triumph was a highlight of the Calcutta race result November 16 coverage.
Zarak settled patiently behind the early leaders, conserving energy as the race unfolded. As the field approached the final 400 metres, Imran Chisty expertly guided the gelding into a well-timed surge. Displaying a potent combination of stamina and tactical speed, Zarak swept past the front-runners to cross the finish line with authority, his acceleration in the closing stages leaving little doubt about his superiority.
The runner-up spoils went to Goodwill (J: Vishal N Bunde, T: Neil Darashah), who finished a length-and-a-half behind in 2:08.916, staying close but unable to match the winner’s late burst. Champagnesupernova (J: P. Trevor, T: Aashay Doctor) completed the podium in 2:08.923, rounding out a tightly contested top three.
