The Calcutta race result 29 November delivered high drama and classic quality as Race 5 – THE CALCUTTA 1000 GUINEAS (2025) (GRADE III) unfolded at 3:30 PM during the Autumn Meeting’s Seventh Day at Kolkata. Run over a competitive 1600 metres for three-year-old Indian horses, the prestigious fillies’ classic was claimed in emphatic fashion by Heart, guided masterfully by jockey P. Trevor for trainer Deepesh Narredu. Racing in the colours of Dr Ram H Shroff & Mr Raj H Shroff rep Stride Livestock Pvt Ltd, Mr Chetan Shah, Mr Subodh Maskara & Mr Pankaj Kumar Maskara rep Citoc Ventures Pvt Ltd & Mr Rajeev Vasudeo Goenka, Heart stopped the clock at 1:37.650, sealing a memorable Guineas triumph.

Heart broke smoothly, settled into a perfect stalking position, and travelled with fluency throughout. Trevor waited patiently, keeping the filly relaxed as the field strung out early. Approaching the final 400 metres, Heart surged forward with an assured, decisive acceleration, gaining momentum with every stride. Her sustained finish and strong control in the closing stages made it clear she was the class of the field, securing a confident and authoritative victory.

The battle behind her was tightly contested. Eleanora, ridden by Suraj Narredu and trained by Rajesh Narredu, closed gamely to finish second in 1:37.751, just a fraction behind the winner. Conjurer, guided by Mukesh Kumar for trainer B. Prithviraj, produced a determined late effort to claim third, clocking 1:37.784 in a blanket finish that highlighted the depth of talent in this year’s line-up.

With the classic settled and excitement still thick in the air, attention now turns to the next event on the card — THE SAFARI HANDICAP, scheduled for 4:00 PM, promising another thrilling contest at the Calcutta races.
