The fifth race of the day at the Calcutta Races Christmas Meeting, THE USHA STUD CALCUTTA OAKS (2025) GRADE III, witnessed a commanding display of talent from Heart (J: Suraj Narredu, T: Deepesh Narredu). Contested over 2400m for three-year-old horses only on Saturday, 20th December 2025 at 3:30 PM, the star performer clocked a winning time of 2:31.949
Winning in the colours of Dr Ram H Shroff & Mr Raj H Shroff rep Stride Livestock Pvt Ltd, Mr Chetan Shah, Mr Subodh Maskara & Mr Pankaj Kumar Maskara rep Citoc Ventures Pvt Ltd, and Mr Rajeev Vasudeo Goenka. The performance was a highlight in the Calcutta race result 20 December coverage, marking Heart’s authority over a competitive field.
From the break, Heart settled well behind the early pace setters, biding time with measured composure. Around the final bend, Suraj Narredu guided the filly with precision, finding a clear path to surge past rivals in the home straight. The decisive turn of foot and strong gallop over the final 400m ensured Heart pulled away decisively to claim victory with poise and style.
Eleanora (J: A Prakash, T: Rajesh Narredu) finished strongly to take second in 2:32.736, staying close to the winner for much of the straight, while Xanthe (J: Akshay Kumar, T: S S Attaollahi) closed well to claim third in 2:34.236. The top three were separated by fine margins, reflecting a thrilling contest from start to finish.
With the Oaks concluded, all eyes now turn to the upcoming THE TIGER TOPS HANDICAP (Class V: Horses Rated 1-26), expected to test speed and tactics in the next thrilling contest of the day.
