Owned by Mr Sumant Dalmiya, Mr Jayanti Prasad Khaitan, Mr Soumendra Nath Mookherjee, Mr Manoj Pasari, Mr Anirudha Ghosh, Mr Ratnanko Banerji & Mr Hemang Devendra Doctor, and expertly guided by jockey A Prakash for trainer Aashay Doctor, the winner stopped the clock at 2:05.494, confirming its superiority in this early-season contest. Racing fans following the Calcutta race result 13 December witnessed a striking display of precision and power from the outset.
From the break, Great Guns settled in a prominent position, tracking the pace while conserving energy for the crucial final stretch. As the field turned for home, A Prakash urged the gelding forward, and the gelding responded with a decisive surge, breaking clear to secure a comfortable victory. The measured tactics and timely acceleration underlined the winner’s class and adaptability over the demanding 2000m distance.
Runner-up honors went to Third Avenue (J: P Tejeshwar, T: Arti Doctor), finishing strongly in 2:06.323 after keeping pace with the winner for much of the final furlongs. Good Deeds (J: A. A. Vikrant, T: Rajesh Narredu) finished third in 2:07.470, rounding out a tightly contested podium.
