In an electrifying opening to the Calcutta Races, Saturday, 13th December 2025 saw Race 1, The Madras Race Club Cup (Class I: Horses rated 81 and above, rated 61-86 eligible), run over 2000m, kick off at 12:30 PM with a commanding performance from Great Guns. Owned by Mr Sumant Dalmiya, Mr Jayanti Prasad Khaitan, Mr Soumendra Nath Mookherjee, Mr Manoj Pasari, Mr Anirudha Ghosh, Mr Ratnanko Banerji & Mr Hemang Devendra Doctor, and expertly guided by jockey A Prakash for trainer Aashay Doctor, the winner stopped the clock at 2:05.494, confirming its superiority in this early-season contest. Racing fans following the Calcutta race result 13 December witnessed a striking display of precision and power from the outset.

From the break, Great Guns settled in a prominent position, tracking the pace while conserving energy for the crucial final stretch. As the field turned for home, A Prakash urged the gelding forward, and the gelding responded with a decisive surge, breaking clear to secure a comfortable victory.
