A Class I contest for horses rated 81 and above (rated 61–86 eligible), run over 2200m at 03:30 PM, saw Main Street (J: M S Deora, T: Arti Doctor) take the honours in commanding style, stopping the clock at 2:17.927. Racing in the colours of Mr Kersi H Vachha, Main Street’s performance ensured this 9th race became a highlight of the day’s Calcutta race result 1 jan coverage.

From the start, Main Street settled beautifully mid-pack, biding time behind the early leaders before producing a decisive surge in the home stretch.
