Calcutta’s Racing Community Gathers for a December Afternoon

The Royal Calcutta Turf Club will stage a well-balanced eight-race programme on Saturday as the Calcutta Race Cards 13 December meeting brings together feature events, competitive sprints, and key middle-distance contests.

THE MADRAS RACE CLUB CUP – 12:30 PM

The opening race of the Calcutta Race meeting will be the Madras Race Club Cup, a Class I contest for horses rated 81 and above over 2000 metres. THIRD AVENUE, SATIVUR, GOOD DEEDS, and GREAT GUNS will compete for the ₹7,50,000 stake.

THE HONG KONG JOCKEY CLUB CUP – 1:00

Three two-year-olds — ARGENTO, COSMOLOGY, and ECHOES OF ETERNITY — will appear over 1200 metres in this juvenile event carrying ₹15,00,000.

THE POLICE MARTYRS CUP – 1:30 PM

A busy Class IV, 1100-metre sprint worth ₹4,00,000 will feature MOST AND MORE, CITY OF JOY, CASHMERE SILK, JEAN LAFETTE, SPIRIT BAY, WINSANGEL, ZALIA, SEA OF CHARM, and HAPPY MORNING offering ₹4,00,000.

THE MOUNTED POLICE CUP – 2:00 PM

A competitive Class III field — ALL TIME LEGEND, LIGHT THE WORLD, SUPERLATIVE, SEASMOKE, DR DOOM, TRUE FAITH, CASH YOUR LUCK, KERRYGOLD, and GIMMLER — will go over 1200 metres for a stake of ₹5,00,000.

THE POLICE COMMISSIONER’S CUP – 2:30 PM

This 1400-metre, Class II event worth ₹5,50,000 has drawn BHARAT, ZURI, ASPIRA, DIVINE ART, AEROPOLI, WATCH MY STRIDE, and GOLDEN GLOW. This event will carry prize money of ₹5,50,000.

THE B M KHAITAN MEMORIAL CALCUTTA GOLD CUP (GRADE II) – 3:00 PM

The day’s highlight will be the prestigious 1600-metre Grade II feature worth ₹24,00,000. DUKE OF TUSCANY, MONTEVERDI, HIGH COMMAND, TRAKILA, DUBAI PRINCESS, and KING LOUIS will contest the Calcutta Gold Cup.

THE IVANOE CUP – 3:30 PM

A sharp 1200-metre, Class III sprint worth ₹5,00,000 has attracted ABHICANDRA, TYCOONIST, LORD VADER, DANCE ALONG, DRAGON’S GOLD, MIGHTY ZO, VICTORIA CROSS, and BUNDLE OF CHARM.

THE AVALANCHE STAR CUP – 4:00 PM

The concluding event is a Class IV, 1100-metre contest worth ₹4,00,000 featuring MI ARION, TRES BIEN, DESERT CHARM, MARCOLINI, RESPLENDENCE, AMALFITANA, SIMRAN’S ATTITUDE, and N R I FANTASY.

A compact but engaging eight-race winter card awaits, headlined by the Calcutta Gold Cup, supported by competitive sprints and middle-distance races across all divisions.
