Sunday afternoon at Pune Racecourse witnessed an exciting contest as Race 3, The Serum Institute of India Trophy, a Class III event for Indian horses rated 40 to 66, stretched over 2400 meters at 02:20 PM. Bugatti, ridden by A. Prakash for trainer P. Shroff, delivered a polished performance to cross the finish line in 2:36:984. Racing in the colours of an elite ownership group including Mr Vijay B. Shirke, Mrs Vijay B. Shirke, Mr Jay V. Shirke, Mr K N Dhunjibhoy, Mr Z K Dhunjibhoy & Ms Anosha Meyers rep. Five Stars Shipping Co Pvt Ltd, and Mr Berjis Minoo Desai, Bugatti secured a commanding victory that thrilled the crowd.

The race unfolded with a steady early pace, with Bugatti settling just off the leaders before making a decisive move in the home straight. Showing both stamina and timing, the winner surged past rivals with a strong final furlong, demonstrating tactical intelligence and finishing speed that left competitors trailing.

Black Thunder, under Neeraj Rawal for trainer Rehanullah Khan, put in a spirited effort to take second place in 2:38:187, keeping the pressure on the winner until late in the stretch. Land of Plenty, guided by Aditya Waydande and trained by Subhag Singh, finished third in 2:39:350, rounding off an intense battle for the podium spots.

With The Serum Institute of India Trophy concluded, attention now shifts to the day’s highlight, The Villoo C. Poonawalla Million, scheduled for 03:00 PM, promising another thrilling contest for Pune racing fans.
