With over 90 horses vying for victory, fresh talent, seasoned champions, and top trainers are all set to deliver unforgettable action. It’s the summer sensation racing fans have been waiting for!
As the gates swing open on a brand-new season, the Bangalore Turf Club is set to light up the track with high-stakes action and adrenaline-fueled competition. The 2025 summer meeting opens with a thrilling weekend double-header, setting the tone for an exciting racing calendar. Handicaps for the two-day opener have already been released, and anticipation is building fast among punters, owners, and fans alike.
The opening race of the season, The B.T.C. Charitable Trust Trophy, will be run over a distance of approximately 1200 meters and is open to horses rated 80 and above. The initial list of contenders includes CROWN DRIVE, STAR GLORY, CZAR, IMPERIAL BLUE, ALDGATE, RICARDO, VIVALDO, BHARAT, and METZINGER—a promising field to kick things off.
Next on the schedule is The Racing Patrons Plate, also over 1200 meters, for horses rated 40 to 65. Entries include VAL D’ARAN, DIVINE ART, EXCELLENT LASS, KNOTTY BLUSH, FINLEY, AHERNE, DENSETSU, SASSY, CHOTIPARI, DUFY, ELUSIVE ART, TESORINO, IL VOLO, CARAT LOVE, and SMILE OF BEAUTY.
The Kunigal Stud Plate, contested over approximately 1400 meters, features five-year-old horses rated 40 to 65. Early names on the list include PRIME ABBESS, ALL ATTRACTION, FORTUNATE SON, AHERNE, KNOTTY PATTON, MYSTICAL AIR, ISABELLE, and SPRINGSTEEN.
In the Welcome Plate (1400 meters, rated 20 to 45), a packed lineup includes KNOTTY AFFAIR, SEE THE LIGHT, DEFENCE COUNSEL, FORTIS, FELISA, ECLIPSE PULSE, MONTERIO, JOON, LOCKHEED, BASILICA, LG’S STAR, THE GOLDEN DREAM, CARTER, LEX LUTHOR, VERRAZZANO, COUNT BASIE, WESTLAKE, DIVINE PROTECTOR, FORCE OF NATURE, ADELANTO, STAR SYMPHONY, and GISMO.
The Quasar Plate, also over 1400 meters, features five-year-olds rated 20 to 45. Top contenders include ISABELLE, LADY INVICTUS, ELVEDEN, AGERA, STAR COMET, SOUTHERN DYNASTY, GANDOLFINI, RAFFLES, and SOUTHERNARISTOCRAT.
The Ich Dien Plate brings another fast-paced contest over 1200 meters for horses rated 00 to 25. Expected participants include MEHRA, ADELANTO, EMERALDO, EQUALIZER, LORVEN LUV, QUEEN BEANDAZ, STAR SYMPHONY, N R I GOLD, POSTHASTE, ICE STORM, MY SOLITAIRE, EMPRESS BELLA, MEGHANN, SACRED CREATOR, EMBOSOM, and ESTEFANIA.
Adding to the excitement is a special terms race—The International Labour Day Trophy, also run over 1200 meters. This is a maiden race for three-year-olds who have run at least three times but have not placed second, third, or fourth even once.
