The fourth race on Day 9 of the Bangalore Summer Meeting — The World Blood Donor Day Cup — offered a gripping mile-long contest that saw Alamgir deliver a nail-biting photo-finish victory at the Bangalore Turf Club on June 14, 2025.
Run over 1600 meters and open exclusively to three-year-olds, the race was a true test of early-season form and stamina. Trained by Irfan Ghatala and ridden with cool confidence by Suraj Narredu, Alamgir timed the finishing run to perfection, holding off late challengers to stop the clock at 1:44.76. The win brought a deserving reward of ₹5,50,000 and signaled Alamgir’s arrival as one to follow this season.
Close behind in second was Pristine Glory, trained by Karthik Ganapathy and partnered by Neeraj Rawal, who kept pace with the leader in the final stretch and crossed the wire in 1:45.43, securing ₹2,75,000. The runner-up’s performance was marked by composure and effort, falling just short at the post.
Rounding out the top three was Darrington, also trained by Irfan Ghatala, ridden by L. Alex Rozario, who finished in 1:46.01 and picked up ₹1,65,000. The result gave Ghatala a win and a third in the same race, further underlining his stable’s strength among the younger brigade.
With this exciting finish concluded, attention now shifts to The Meydan Plate, the fifth race of the day, as racing action at BTC continues at full pace.
