A true test of stamina unfolded in the third race on Day 14 of the Bangalore Summer Meeting, where MINDFUL delivered a determined performance to win The Astronomic Plate, a 2000-meter handicap for horses rated 40 to 65. The race, offering a purse of ₹6,30,000, was flagged off at 2:30 PM and brought together a quality lineup of middle-distance contenders.

Guided confidently by Yash Narredu and trained by Deepesh Narredu, Mindful surged ahead in the final furlong to clinch the victory in a time of 2:08.02. The winner ran for a broad ownership group comprising Mr Deepesh, M. Narredu , Mr. Harshad Anil Kale , Stride Livestock Pvt Ltd & M/S. ZamZam Enterprises Mr Anil Saraf, and showed both class and staying power.

The runner-up ODYSSEUS, partnered by Neeraj Rawal and trained by Pesi Shroff, followed closely behind with a time of 2:08.31. Despite looming large in the straight, Odysseus couldn’t match the winner’s final burst of speed.

Finishing third was MOON STAR, piloted by Akshay Kumar for trainer Aravind G., who posted a respectable 2:08.44 after a consistent effort throughout the race.

The strong performance by Mindful suggests further success over staying distances lies ahead. With the day’s feature races yet to come, attention now turns to the fourth event—The Adler Plate—as action continues at Bangalore Turf Club.
