Racing excitement continued at Bangalore Turf Club (BTC) during the Bangalore Summer Meeting’s third day on Saturday, 09 May 2026, as Kalamitsi delivered a polished performance to win The Kunigal Stud Trophy, Race No. 4 on the afternoon’s card. Run over 1200 metres at 04:30 PM, the Class I contest for horses rated 80 and above saw Kalamitsi surge to victory under P. Trevor for trainer S.S. Attaollahi, stopping the clock at 1:12.71.
Representing the ownership of Mr Solomon Benveniste, M/S. Deciding Factor LLP, Sarainaga Racing Pvt Ltd, Mr. Hemang D. Doctor, and Mr. Lokesh Ahuja, the winner produced one of the standout efforts of the day at BTC. The Bangalore race result 9 May meeting continued to highlight the depth of quality sprinting talent on display.
Kalamitsi travelled comfortably through the opening stages before P. Trevor gradually improved position approaching the home turn. Once asked for an effort in the straight, the seasoned runner quickened decisively and showed admirable determination under pressure to repel the late challenge from his closest pursuers. Trainer S.S. Attaollahi’s charge combined tactical speed with sustained finishing power to secure an impressive victory in the competitive sprint feature.
Runner-up honours went to Ricardo, partnered by Aleemuddin and trained by Arjun Mangalorkar, who finished strongly to record 1:12.80 while closing rapidly near the finish. Excellent Lass, ridden by Yash Narredu for trainer Rajesh Narredu, stayed on gamely to claim third place in 1:13.15 after remaining in contention throughout the final furlong.
With another quality contest concluded at Bangalore Turf Club, attention now turns to The Dean Stephens Memorial Trophy scheduled for 05:00 PM, a race expected to provide further excitement as the Bangalore Summer Meeting progresses.
