The Bangalore Turf Club (BTC) continued the Bangalore Summer Meeting on Sunday, 5th July 2026, with the 4th race, The Maharaja’s Gold Cup, a 2200-metre contest for horses aged four years old and over, run at 4:00 PM. ZUCCARO, ridden confidently by Vivek G., produced a polished staying performance to score for trainer P. Shroff, clocking 2:13.75. Representing Five Stars Shipping Co Pvt Ltd rep by Mr K N Dhunjibhoy, Mr Z K Dhunjibhoy & Ms Anosha Meyers, Mr Vispi R. Patel, Mr A. S. Narielwala & Mr Eruch Adi Mody & Miss Anita J. Captain & Mr Dinshaw P. Adenwalla, Mrs Jasmine D. Adenwalla, the winner stamped his authority over the field in one of the afternoon’s feature contests. This Bangalore race result 5th July further highlighted the quality of competition on offer during the summer carnival.
Settled comfortably through the early stages, Zuccaro travelled strongly before being asked to improve approaching the final bend. Vivek G. timed his challenge to perfection, allowing the seasoned campaigner to lengthen his stride in the home straight and gradually pull clear of his rivals. The combination of stamina and acceleration proved decisive over the testing 2200-metre trip, as P. Shroff’s charge maintained a sustained gallop all the way to the winning post.
MAYNE MAGIC finished second after a determined effort, with Antony Raj S. in the saddle for trainer Kishan Thomas. K, stopping the clock at 2:14.42. ALFONSINE completed the placings in third, ridden by A. Ashhad Asbar for trainer S. John, recording a time of 2:14.78 after staying on well in the closing stages.
With another feature race successfully concluded, attention now turns to The Galilee Plate, scheduled for 4:30 PM, where another competitive contest promises to keep the excitement building at Bangalore Racecourse.
