The opening race of the Bangalore Summer Meeting 19th day at Bangalore Turf Club (BTC) set a strong tone on Saturday, 4th July 2026, as Yarra Yarra produced a composed late surge to land The Mauritius Pearl Plate, a Maiden race for 3-year-olds over 1400 metres at 02:30 PM. The contest forms an important part of the early-season juvenile development programme under the Bangalore summer racing calendar.

Representing prominent connections, Yarra Yarra, owned by The Rajagiri Rubber & Produce Company Limited rep by Mr & Mrs Dilip Thomas & Sarainaga Racing Pvt Ltd rep by Mr T S Brar, and ridden by Antony Raj S. & trained by Arjun Mangalorkar, displayed maturity beyond its maiden status to open its account in style.
Yarra Yarra was positioned smartly throughout the 1400m trip, tracking the pace before being asked for an effort in the straight. Once balanced, the colt/filly (as applicable) responded strongly under pressure, edging clear in the final strides to secure a confident victory in a well-judged ride.
Garzian (V.R. Jagadeesh, trained by V. Lokanath) emerged as the closest challenger, staying within striking distance but unable to match the winner’s finishing kick. Mystic Dew (Neeraj Rawal, trained by Aravind G.) stayed on steadily to complete the frame.
Garzian finished second in 1:26.91, while Mystic Dew secured third in 1:27.20, as the trio produced a competitive finish to kick off the card.
