The Bangalore Turf Club (BTC) continued its Bangalore Summer Meeting on Saturday, 4th July 2026, with the afternoon card producing a series of noteworthy performances across the sprint and middle-distance events. The afternoon’s second race, The Bold Gesture Plate DIV II, was a Class V event for horses rated 00 to 25 over 1200 metres, scheduled at 2:30 PM. Mystical Queen made every opportunity count, giving Asirvatham and trainer Azhar Ali a deserved success after finishing strongly in the closing stages.
Representing the silks of Mr Vishnu Vardhan Reddy Komma, the winner settled into a comfortable rhythm before finding another gear inside the final furlong to clock 1:14.97, proving too strong when it mattered most.
Hold Your Breath kept the pressure on throughout and claimed second in 1:15.20 under P. Kiran Rai for trainer M. Rajendra Singh, while Estefania, partnered by S. Sachin and prepared by G. Sandhu, finished third in 1:15.93.
With that contest complete, attention turned to The Cape Dance Plate, the afternoon’s maiden event at 3:00 PM.
The third race, The Cape Dance Plate, brought together a field of three-year-old maidens over 1400 metres, and Arc Of Life delivered the breakthrough performance connections had been waiting for.
Ridden confidently by Suraj Narredu, the S. Narredu-trained colt travelled with purpose before asserting his authority in the straight to register his first career success in 1:27.58.
The victory came for owners Mr Daulat Chhabria, Mr Ashok Ranpise, Mr Teja Gollapudi, Dr Prabhakar Chowdary Tripuraneni and M/s DT Racing & Breeding LLP, who were rewarded with an encouraging maiden triumph.
Burevestnik stayed on well to finish runner-up in 1:28.03 for Shreyas Singh and trainer S.S. Attaollahi, while Savanna Storm, ridden by Antony Raj S. for Arjun Mangalorkar, filled third place in 1:28.81.
The meeting then moved on to The Dr. K.M. Srinivasa Gowda Memorial Cup at 3:30 PM.
One of the afternoon’s closest contests arrived in the fourth race, The Dr. K.M. Srinivasa Gowda Memorial Cup, a Class III sprint over 1200 metres for horses rated 40 to 65.
River Deep, guided by A. Ashhad Asbar, responded gamely when challenged in the final stages to edge out his rivals and hand trainer V. Lokanath another notable success. Racing for Mr Md Minhaj Raza, River Deep reached the winning post in 1:13.71, holding on by the narrowest of margins after a determined finish.
The fast-finishing Flight Of Fancy, ridden by Vivek G. for trainer Darius R. Byramji, was only just denied after recording 1:13.77, while Fortis, with P. Trevor aboard for trainer S.S. Attaollahi, completed the placings in 1:14.00 following another honest effort.
With three races decided, the focus shifted towards The Karnataka Police Trophy, promising another competitive chapter in the Bangalore Summer Meeting.
