The Bangalore Turf Club (BTC) staged another memorable contest during the Bangalore Summer Meeting, 28th day, Friday, 31st July 2026, as the 7th Race, The Karnataka Governor’s Trophy, a Maiden event for 3-year-old horses over 1600 metres, was run at 4:00 PM. In another notable Bangalore race result 31st July, ROYAL LEGACY produced a polished performance under Vivek G. to score a deserved maiden victory in 1:37.44 for trainer James Mckeown. The winner races in the colours of Mr P J Vazifdar, Mrs P J Vazifdar, Mr M Rishad & Mr K Kaliyaperumal & Ms DT Racing & Breeding LLP & Mr S R Sanas.
Settled comfortably through the early stages, ROYAL LEGACY travelled with purpose before quickening impressively in the straight. Vivek G. timed his challenge to perfection, allowing the three-year-old to stride clear when it mattered most and secure a convincing first career success. The James Mckeown-trained runner showed maturity throughout the mile contest and maintained a strong gallop right to the winning post.
FINE SILVER finished a creditable second in 1:37.79 under Akshay Kumar for trainer Darius R. Byramji, staying on well in the closing stages but unable to match the winner’s finishing burst. MOON ORACLE, partnered by A. Ashhad Asbar and trained by Prasanna Kumar, completed the podium in 1:38.06 after another honest effort to finish third.
With The Karnataka Governor’s Trophy decided, attention now shifts to the 8th Race, The Champion Jockey Cup DIV I, scheduled for 4:30 PM, where another competitive contest awaits at the Bangalore Summer Meeting.
