At Bangalore Turf Club (BTC), the evening card of the Bangalore Summer Meeting (2nd day, Sunday, 03 May 2026) gathered momentum with Race No. 7, The Squanderer Plate, a Class III contest for horses rated 40 to 65 over a sharp 1200 metres at 06:00 PM. Delivering a polished performance, Money Bags (J: P. Trevor) surged to victory for trainer Prasanna Kumar, clocking 1:12.56 and rewarding the faith of owners Capt Jamshed J Appoo, Mr K Manoj Kumar, Mr K Kaliyaperumal, and Mr J Ramesh. This result adds another highlight to the Bangalore race result 3 May narrative unfolding through the day.
The race unfolded at a brisk early tempo, with contenders jostling for early position in the sprint trip. Money Bags settled comfortably off the pace under P. Trevor, who judged the fractions to perfection. As the field straightened for home, Trevor angled his mount into clear running, and the gelding responded with a decisive turn of foot, quickening past rivals to assert control in the final furlong and seal the contest with authority.
Pole Star (J: Mukesh Kumar (HYD), T: Prasanna Kumar) chased gamely to finish second in 1:13.80, keeping the winner honest but unable to match the final burst. Defence Counsel (J: Rayan Ahmed R., T: S. Dominic) ran on steadily to secure third place in 1:14.19, completing the podium in a well-contested sprint.
With this race concluded, the spotlight now shifts to the feature events later in the evening, where higher-class performers are set to take centre stage.
