Bangalore Turf Club (BTC) witnessed an impressive performance in the 2nd race of the Bangalore Summer Meeting, 17th Day on Saturday, 27th June 2026. The Poonawalla Stud Plate DIV II, a Class III contest for horses rated 40 to 65 over 1200 metres, saw DEFENCE COUNSEL (J: Vivek G.) secure a commanding victory at 02:30 PM, clocking 1:12.49 for owner Mr M Venkatesh. The latest Bangalore race result 27th June highlighted a well-timed effort from the winner, who produced a strong finish to claim the top honour.
DEFENCE COUNSEL travelled smoothly through the race before making his move at the crucial stage. Under Vivek G.’s confident ride, the S. Dominic-trained runner displayed sharp acceleration in the final stretch and pulled clear when it mattered most, securing a convincing win in the Poonawalla Stud Plate DIV II.
The runner-up position went to BESTIDENTIFICATION (J: A. Ashhad Asbar, T: V. Lokanath), who finished the race in 1:13.14 after staying competitive throughout. LA MCQUEEN (J: Aleemuddin, T: Arjun Mangalorkar) completed the top three with a time of 1:13.17, finishing strongly to take third place.
With the second race concluded, attention now turns towards The Astronomic Plate, scheduled for 03:00 PM, as the Bangalore Summer Meeting continues with more exciting contests ahead.
