The Bangalore Turf Club (BTC) witnessed an exciting opening contest on the 15th day of the Bangalore Summer Meeting on Saturday, 20th June 2026, as BLACK IRISH (J: Pavan) claimed The Pronto Pronto Plate, a Maiden race for 3-year-old horses over 1600 metres. Racing for owner Mr Francis Arun Kumar, BLACK IRISH delivered a strong performance for trainer Irfan Ghatala, completing the race in 1:37.68 to register a convincing victory. This Bangalore race result 20th June highlighted a competitive start to the day’s proceedings at the Bangalore Summer Meeting.
BLACK IRISH settled into the race with purpose before producing a decisive finish when it mattered most. Pavan timed the challenge perfectly in the final stages, allowing the 3-year-old to build momentum and edge ahead of the field with a well-judged run. The winner maintained control in the closing stretch and held on strongly to secure the opening race honours.
ASTERION (J: Vivek G., T: Karthik Ganapathy) finished a close second, stopping the clock at 1:37.70 after staying within striking distance throughout the race. INCREDIBLE LUCK (J: Yash Narredu, T: Rajesh Narredu) completed the top three with a time of 1:38.19 after making a late challenge in the final stages.
With the opening race of the day concluded, attention now turns to The Borsalino Plate DIV II, scheduled for 02:30 PM, as the Bangalore Summer Meeting continues with more competitive action.
