The opening contest of the Bangalore Summer Meeting’s 14th day at Bangalore Turf Club (BTC) saw STALINGRAD produce a resolute performance to capture The Kranji Plate, the 1st race of the afternoon. Run over 2000 metres for Class IV horses rated 20 to 45, the event was held at 1:30 PM on Sunday, 14th June 2026. Representing the silks of Mr Francis Arun Kumar, STALINGRAD delivered a strong staying effort under Arvind Kumar. N to provide trainer Irfan Ghatala with a well-earned success in a time of 2:11.21.
The Bangalore race result 14th June got off to an exciting start as STALINGRAD settled into a comfortable rhythm before steadily improving position during the latter stages of the race. Arvind Kumar. N timed his challenge perfectly approaching the home straight, and the gelding responded gamely when asked for maximum effort. Showing admirable determination over the final furlong, STALINGRAD edged clear of his rivals to secure victory and open the afternoon’s proceedings on a winning note.
The runner-up position went to STORM SHADOW, ridden by Vishal and trained by Prasanna Kumar, who stayed on strongly but fell short by a narrow margin, clocking 2:11.57. AZALEA finished third for jockey A. Prakash and trainer P. Shroff, producing a commendable effort to stop the timer at 2:11.93. The close finishing times highlighted the competitive nature of the contest and ensured an entertaining start to the day’s racing programme.
With the curtain raiser completed, attention now shifts to The Malenahalli Plate, scheduled for 2:00 PM, as the Bangalore Summer Meeting continues with another intriguing contest on the card.
