ASTERION won the 5th Race “The Five Stars Shipping Million” at The Bangalore Turf Club (BTC), today ( Sunday, 12th July 2026) The Maiden race for 3-year-old horses was contested over 1600 metres at 02:50 PM, where ASTERION delivered a determined victory under jockey Akshay Kumar for trainer Karthik Ganapathy, representing owner Mr C Aryama Sundaram, stopping the clock at 1:36.61.
The Bangalore race result 12th July reflected a well-judged ride and a strong finishing effort from ASTERION, who displayed excellent balance and stamina in the mile contest. Settling into a comfortable position early, ASTERION travelled smoothly before being asked for an effort in the final stages. Responding strongly under pressure, the three-year-old surged ahead in the closing furlong to secure a convincing maiden triumph.
The race produced a close finish behind the winner, with ROYAL LEGACY (J: Neeraj Rawal, T: James Mckeown) putting up a strong challenge and finishing second in 1:36.78. SENSUOUS (J: Suraj Narredu, T: Aravind G.) completed the top three, clocking 1:37.19 after staying on well in the final stages.
With The Five Stars Shipping Million concluded, attention now turns towards the The Turf Authorities of India Trophy, scheduled as the next race at 03:25 PM, promising another exciting contest on the Bangalore card.
