The Bengaluru venue will stage contests ranging from maiden events to high-grade handicap races, with the celebrated Chettinad Stud Plate expected to stand prominently among the day’s principal attractions.
Proceedings will commence at 2:00 PM with The Udhagamandalam Plate, a maiden event for three-year-old horses over 1200 metres carrying a total prize fund of Rs.11,00,000. The opening sprint will feature several lightly raced contenders seeking an early breakthrough. ARK EMPEROR, partnered by Akshay Kumar, will headline the field alongside BHAGYA under Rayan Ahmed R. and A GREAT BUZZ with Pavan in the saddle. The afternoon’s centrepiece, The Chettinad Stud Plate, will follow at 2:30 PM over 1600 metres for Class I horses rated 80 and above. At 3:00 PM, The Elite Force Plate will provide another opportunity for maiden three-year-olds over 1400 metres with total prize money of Rs.11,00,000. A sizeable field of emerging runners has been declared for the contest. BORN TO RISE under Yash Narredu, FRIEDRICH partnered by Akshay Kumar, and HABOOB with A.A. Vikrant aboard are among the principal names engaged. KNOTTY EMPEROR, PANACHE, RAMPAGE, SUPER CHARM, THE ARCHER, BRAVE HEART, and ESTELLE will further strengthen the competitive nature of the race.
The Marilingaiah Memorial Trophy, scheduled for 3:30 PM, will bring together Class III horses rated between 40 and 65 over the sprint distance of 1200 metres. The Rs.6,30,000 contest has attracted an extensive field headed by ROYAL DECCAN under Aleemuddin, TRUE PUNCH partnered by Antony Raj S., and VICTORIA DORESAANI with L. Alex Rozario in the saddle. REFINED AGGRESSION, DEFENCE COUNSEL, FELISA, THESSALIAN, ZIVA, SEE THE LIGHT, SPLENDID DREAM, and LAUTERBRUNNEN are also expected to contribute depth to the competitive handicap.
Attention will then shift to The Sir M. Visvesvaraya Memorial Trophy at 4:00 PM, a Class II event over 1400 metres for horses rated between 60 and 85. Offering total stakes of Rs.7,00,000, the race will feature a compact yet accomplished field. EFFICACY with Suraj Narredu, MONEY BAGS partnered by P. Trevor, and CROSSWATER under Aleemuddin are expected to feature prominently. IRISH COFFEE, RODNEY, and LUX AETERNA will also contest the quality middle-distance affair.
The Romantic Dance Plate at 4:30 PM will cater to Class IV horses rated from 20 to 45 over 1400 metres for prize money of Rs.5,10,000. BULLETPROOF under P. Trevor, ALAMGIR ridden by Suraj Narredu, and PRINCE OF WALES partnered by Antony Raj S. are likely to attract considerable interest among race followers. The concluding event, The Prince Khartoum Plate, will be staged at 5:00 PM over 1200 metres for Class IV runners rated between 20 and 45.
