Quality racing at Bangalore Turf Club (BTC) will continue on Sunday, 28 June, when a competitive seven-race programme will be staged from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. The afternoon’s schedule will feature races across maiden, handicap and feature divisions, with the prestigious Chief Minister’s Cup serving as the centrepiece of the meeting. Competitive fields across sprint and middle-distance contests will ensure another well-balanced day of racing during the Bangalore season.

Setting the afternoon in motion, The Littleover Plate will be run at 2:00 PM over 1200 metres for maiden three-year-old horses with a total prize fund of ₹11,00,000. The opening contest will feature AUSPICIOUS KING, CALIX, PANACHE, ABBAKKA, CHARMING PROSPECT, HANIEL, PREVIEW, SAI PRINCESS and TIME TESTER. With several lightly raced youngsters set to line up, the race will provide an important opportunity for emerging talent to make an early impression.
Following the opener, The Mahalakshmi Plate will be contested at 2:30 PM over 1600 metres for Class V horses rated 0 to 25 and will carry prize money of ₹4,50,000. DETECTIVE CONAN, SEA DIAMOND, BIG SAUCE, MAGNA CARTA, SUPERHERO, MICHIKO, BRUCE ALMIGHTY, RISING FORM and PRINCESS JASMINE will be expected to compete in a closely matched handicap over the mile trip.
Adding further depth to the programme, The Richelieu Stakes will be staged at 3:00 PM over 1400 metres for Class IV horses rated 20 to 45 with a purse of ₹5,10,000. QUEENDOM, DREAM WALKIN’, SUPER CHARM, MERICLE BEAUTY, STEELY CHALLENGE, LIGHTNING BLITZ, LOTS OF LUCK and TIGER BAY will comprise the expected field for another competitive contest.
Taking centre stage during the afternoon, The Chief Minister’s Cup will be run at 3:30 PM over 1200 metres for horses aged four years and older with total prize money of ₹15,20,000. The feature sprint will assemble KNOTTY CHARMER (Antony Raj S.), CROWN DRIVE (Hindu Singh), DREAM SELLER (A. Sandesh), KALAMITSI (Akshay Kumar) and RIEKO (Neeraj Rawal). The accomplished line-up, combined with an experienced group of jockeys, will make the race the highlight of Sunday’s programme.
Maintaining the quality of the card, The Karnataka Sub-Area Cup will be held at 4:00 PM over 1400 metres for Class II horses rated 60 to 85 with prize money of ₹7,00,000. SEKHMET, MAHLER, VEGATHA, IRISH COFFEE, JERSEY KING, LUX AETERNA and VICTORIA DORESAANI will be expected to line up in one of the strongest handicaps of the afternoon.
Penultimate on the schedule, The Tudor Jet Plate will be run at 4:30 PM over 1200 metres for Class IV horses rated 20 to 45 and will offer a purse of ₹5,10,000. EL ALAMEIN, AGERA, NOBLE CAUSE, IL VOLO, CARAT LOVE, RIVER DEEP, SUPER KIND, CHOTIPARI and GLORIOUS SPECTRE will contest the sprint, ensuring another evenly matched event before the finale.
Drawing the curtain on the meeting, The Desert God Plate will be contested at 5:00 PM over 1600 metres for Class IV horses rated 20 to 45 with total prize money of ₹5,10,000. PLEDGE, LUCA, IMPERADOR, SHAHENSHAAH, REGAL ARISTOCRACY, RAZZMATAZZ, ABSOLUTE THUNDER and ART OF ROMANCE will complete the seven-race programme, bringing the day’s action to a close.
