The third race of the afternoon at the Bangalore Summer Meeting—The Rare Gem Plate Division II—produced a compelling sprint contest as DARRION powered home to clinch the top spot in the 1200-meter handicap for horses rated 20 to 45. Scheduled at a brisk pace over six furlongs, the race offered a prize purse of ₹510,000 and showcased a strong lineup of competitive sprinters.

Guided confidently by jockey Vivek G. and trained by Pradeep Annaiah, DARRION made his intentions clear early in the contest, keeping within striking distance before launching a well-timed move in the final meters. The gelding accelerated smartly down the home straight to take control and seal the victory in decisive fashion in 1:12.90.

Finishing a close second was QUEBEC, trained by Prasanna Kumar and ridden by Darshan N., who stayed in contention throughout the race and displayed commendable speed in the closing stages in 1:13.90. Though unable to match the final burst of the winner, Quebec’s effort remained impressive.

ANCHORAGE, with C. A. Brisson in the saddle and under the care of trainer Imtiaz Khan, rounded out the top three with a strong late rally in 1:14.10.

The energy at the Bangalore Turf Club continued to build as the crowd enjoyed yet another exciting finish. With the undercard already producing quality performances, attention now shifts to the fourth race of the day—The Brig. R.C.R. Hill Memorial Trophy—as the action-packed summer meeting rolls on.
