At 03:00 PM, BALTIMORE (J: Asirvatham, T: Azhar Ali), owned by Mr. S. Thiruppathy, produced a decisive performance to clinch victory in a sharp 1:11.880, stamping authority on the day’s undercard.
From the gates, the contest unfolded at an electric pace, with frontrunners jostling for position in the opening furlongs. BALTIMORE, kept handy through the early strides, was urged forward at the top of the straight and responded gamely. Accelerating powerfully inside the final 200 metres, the colt surged clear, holding off late challengers to secure a hard-fought win for trainer Azhar Ali and his jubilant connections.
SORRENTO SECRET (J: Ankit Pal, T: Mansoor Khan) pressed strongly in the final stages but had to settle for second, narrowly finishing in 1:12.009. Close behind came SUNWAY LAGOON (J: A. Ramu, T: Ranjeet Shinde), who displayed grit to claim third spot with a time of 1:12.014, ensuring a blanket finish among the top three.
With The Jayanagara Plate wrapped up, attention now shifts to the Maj. Sardar L. Mahadevaiah Memorial Trophy, scheduled for 3:30 PM, as the Mysore Monsoon meeting promises more edge-of-the-seat action for racing fans.
