The Bahrain Turf Club will step into its most prestigious territory on Friday, January 30, as the Crown Prince’s Cup Festival brings together elite talent, premium prize money, and graded competition for the fourth round of the Bahrain Turf Series. Running from 4:00pm to 7:45pm, the eight-race programme is set to mark a defining moment in the season, with multiple high-value contests designed to test the very best across imported and Bahrain-bred divisions.

The meeting will be shaped by a series of premium races, culminating in top-tier graded events that carry both status and significant financial reward. At the heart of the festival lies a sequence of Crown Prince’s Cup contests, highlighted by elite-class runners and international-quality fields, ensuring the evening unfolds with rising intensity and purpose.

The action will begin at 4:00pm with Race 1, the HRH The Crown Prince’s Cup, a WAHO-approved, Graded Class 1, Domestic Grade 2 contest over 1400 metres. Nine runners will line up for a prize of USD 14,000, setting a high standard from the outset and immediately establishing the premium tone of the festival.

Speed will take centre stage at 4:30pm in Race 2, the Bahrain Turf Club Cup, a Bahrain-bred Graded Class 1, Domestic Grade 2 sprint over 1000 metres. With six runners engaged and USD 14,000 on offer, this sharp test is expected to reward early pace and precision.

The programme will then open to imported competition in Race 3 at 5:00pm, an Imported Handicap (Rating 0–80, with 81 and 82 eligible) over 1000 metres. Thirteen runners are set to contest this evenly balanced race, again for USD 14,000, adding depth and competitiveness to the card.

At 5:30pm, attention will turn to Race 4, The Howden Cup, an Imported Graded Class 1, Domestic Grade 2 event over 1200 metres. With eight runners declared and USD 14,000 at stake, this contest is poised to bridge speed and class as the evening begins to build toward its richest moments.

The first major financial surge will arrive at 6:00pm with Race 5, The Bahrain Mile, an Imported Graded Class 1, Domestic Grade 1 showpiece over 1600 metres. Seven runners will compete for a substantial USD 50,000, marking this as a pivotal race within the series and a key test of tactical maturity and stamina.

The festival will reach its absolute peak at 6:30pm with Race 6, the HRH The Crown Prince’s Cup, an Imported Graded Class 1, Group 3 contest over 2000 metres. Featuring eight runners and carrying a commanding prize of USD 200,000, this race stands as the crown jewel of the meeting, attracting elite-grade horses and placing Bahrain firmly on the international racing map for the evening.

The night will conclude at 7:45pm with Race 8, the Bahrain Derby, a Bahrain-bred Graded Class 1, Domestic Grade 1 contest over 2000 metres. Six runners will vie for USD 30,000, offering a fitting and prestigious finale to a festival built on quality, ambition, and competitive excellence.
