Race two of the Mysore Summer Meeting 2025 saw an assertive performance by Aurele, who claimed victory in the Nagamangala Plate (Division II)—a handicap for horses rated 40 to 65. Held over 1400 meters, the race was contested at 2:30 PM and carried a total prize purse of Rs. 5,75,000.

Trained by Feroz M. Khan and partnered by in-form jockey H.M. Akshay, Aurele showcased excellent tactical speed and stamina to secure the win, bringing home a winner’s share of Rs. 2,87,500. The pair struck a seamless balance of control and timing to assert dominance in the final stretch, earning accolades from the paddock and grandstand alike by completing the race in 1:27.261.

Finishing a close second was Natural Tornado in 1:27.362, piloted by Ankit Pal and trained by Mansoor Khan. The gelding made a bold bid in the straight and momentarily looked threatening but was ultimately outpaced in the concluding furlong.

Third place went to  Sergeant Reckless, trained by C D Monnappa and ridden by Faiz, who ran a credible race and showed promise with a determined effort from mid-pack by completing the race in 1:28.104.

The finish was fiercely contested, and Aurele’s decisive surge ensured that the result was sealed with authority. This win marks another notable performance of jockey H.M. Akshay—now with back-to-back victories on the day.

With two races done, attention now shifts to the next event on the card, The Balamuri Plate, a 1400-meter race for Class V horses rated 00 to 25. Racing fans can expect the tempo to remain high as the day unfolds at the Mysore Race Club.
