The spotlight at Mysore Race Club’s Monsoon Meeting on Friday, 03 October 2025, turned to the 6th race of the afternoon — The Meerut Plate, a Class III contest for horses rated 40 to 65 over 1400 metres. Run at 04:30 PM, the race produced a thrilling finish with Aurele (J: Pavan, T: Feroz M Khan) emerging victorious in a sharp time of 1:23.958, much to the delight of owner Mr Anil Viswanatha Poduval.
Breaking alertly, Aurele settled behind the early leaders before jockey Pavan launched a well-timed assault in the final furlong. With a powerful burst, the bay surged ahead, displaying both patience and acceleration — a performance that hinted at bigger targets ahead under the guidance of trainer Feroz M Khan.
The contest remained fiercely competitive, with Live The Dream (J: Aleemuddin, T: Darius Byramji) finishing a close second in 1:24.047, while Connecting Dots (J: Antony Raj S., T: Faraz Arshad) claimed third in 1:24.174 after a spirited late effort. The narrow margins underscored the high-quality racing on display, keeping spectators gripped until the finish.
With The Meerut Plate concluded, attention now shifts to the upcoming 7th race of the day — The Penambur Plate at 05:00 PM, which promises yet another competitive clash at the Mysore track.
