Ascot Racecourse will stage the prestigious King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes (CLASS 1) (Group 1) on Saturday, 25 July, with a nine-runner field set to contest the £2,000,000 feature event. The race will be held at 3:35PM over a distance of 1 mile 3 furlongs 211 yards and will bring together some of the leading three-year-olds and older horses in a high-quality Flat racing contest.
The Group 1 fixture will feature an accomplished line-up including Calandagan, Goliath, Lambourn, Masquerade Ball, Wurttemberg, Kalpana, Minnie Hauk, Action and Benvenuto Cellini. The runners will represent a mixture of established performers and emerging talents, creating a competitive field for one of Ascot’s most important summer races.

Calandagan will line up with Mickael Barzalona set to take the ride, while Goliath will be partnered by C. Soumillon. Lambourn will add further depth to the field, with connections aiming to make an impact in the prestigious middle-distance event.
Masquerade Ball will be guided by Christophe Lemaire, and Wurttemberg will have Oisin Murphy in the saddle. Kalpana will be partnered by Colin Keane, while Minnie Hauk, Action and Benvenuto Cellini will complete the nine-horse field.
The 1 mile 3 furlongs 211 yards trip at Ascot will demand a balance of pace, stamina and tactical judgement. With the race carrying significant prize money and Group 1 status, the contenders will have the opportunity to strengthen their records against some of the best horses in the division.
