Ardakan Powers Through in Moosa M. Hoosein Trophy at Pune
The Moosa M. Hoosein Trophy, a Class II handicap for horses rated 60 to 86, brought together a competitive field over 1400 metres, and it was Ardakan who proved strongest, surging late to clinch the spoils in Sunday’s Pune meeting.
Ridden with confidence by A. Sandesh, Ardakan stayed close to the pace before unleashing a measured final burst to take the lead close home. Trained by P. S. Chouhan, the winner is raced by Mr. Rajan Aggarwal and clocked a time of 1:25:770.
The race was run under fair conditions, with the track offering enough give for closers to make their move down the stretch.
Ataash and Pride’s Prince Give Chase
Ataash, guided by S. A. Amit for trainer Nazzak B. Chenoy, ran an honest second in 1:25:836, making late inroads but falling short of collaring the winner.
Pride’s Prince, under Antony Raj S. for Imtiaz A. Sait, stayed on well for third in 1:26:103, continuing his consistent form and suggesting he remains a threat in similar company.
With Ardakan adding his name to the list of standout performers on the day, the next race in focus is The JSK1 Eve Champion Trophy, a contest expected to blend youth and speed.
